About Mandy:
Mandy received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Idaho State University in 2008. While in the undergraduate program, she completed her practicum at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, in Children and Family Services. During her practicum, Mandy completed child protection investigations and forensic interviews. Upon graduating, Mandy worked as an LSW in her practicum setting for five years as both a Safety Assessor and Case Manager. Mandy went on to work at the Bannock Youth Foundation as the Independent Living Coordinator and served youth that had aged out of the foster care system. As an LSW, Mandy also worked at a skilled nursing facility with a senior population who were all diagnosed with severe mental illness. Mandy then went on to earn a master’s degree in Social Work from Idaho State University in 2019.
Mandy enjoys working with adults and adolescents. She focuses on strengths-based and person-centered approaches with her clients. Mandy believes that empowering her clients will assist them in their own personal growth. In practice, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) along with other evidenced-based treatment modalities.
In her free time, Mandy enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She loves to be outdoors enjoying nature and taking road trips to experience new places and sights. One of Mandy’s favorite motivational quotes is “Stay positive. Forgive others. Invest in yourself. Trust your instincts. Lead with an open heart. Don’t let others ruin your day. Do things that bring you joy. Be of service to humanity. Find your soul tribe. Love yourself”-Lewis Howes
